Ask a Great Mind

FALL 2003 (This event is over... but read about it below.) During the fall of 2003 we invited visitors to this website to ask a question of some of the great minds whose work is incorporated in the Sacred Balance TV Series.  Our "Great Minds" project participants included ... Brian Goodwin and Lucy LeMare.  Brian Goodwin Theoretical Biologist; Professor, Schumacher College, UK According to Brian Goodwin: "The 'new' biology is biology in the form of an exact science of complex systems concerned with dynamics and emergent order. Then everything in biology changes. Instead of the metaphors of conflict, competition, selfish genes, climbing peaks in fitness landscapes, what you get is evolution as a dance. It has no goal." MORE  Lucy LeMare Associate Professor, Early Childhood Education/Development, Simon Fraser University, British Columbia, Canada Lucy Le Mare's interests lie in the area of children's social-emotional development, particularly as it relates to adjustment in the classroom, the peer group, and to school life.
